====== Using the PLMV4toV5 migration tool ======



1. Open up Catia V5 (no files just the program).\\
2. From the "Tools" menu at the top toolbar, select "Utility".\\
3. On the "Utilities" tab, double click the utility type, "PLMV4ToV5Migration" (towards the bottom of the list).\\
4. At the top of the window you will see an area entitle "Document Selection".  Click on the folder button and select the ".model" part you would like to convert.\\
5. In the "Selected Operation" area, you will see the element types listed "LAYER", "SET", "SOLID", and "DRAW".  Select one at a time and press the "As Spec" button for each (Each element's migration mode will say "As Result" initially, but this will only convert the bodies to manifold solids and you will not be able to alter them, so be sure you have changed each ot them to "As Spec" as mentioned above).\\
6. Click the "Next" button and you can change the "Conversion Mode" to SPACE only if you don't care about it producing a draw sheet for you.\\
7. At the bottom of the window, you will see an area entitled "Output".  Click the folder button within it to change the Target Directory to your preference.\\
8. Finally, click the "Run" button and you'll see a window pop up while it's running.  When it finishes it will automatically close. You can press cancel in the PLMV4ToV5Migration window and then open your new ".CATPart" file as you would normally open any V5 file.\\
9. If you want an igs file too, you can now do a "File-->Save As" and change the file type to .igs

Note: You can launch the utility directly without starting Catia first. Go to Start Menu ->Programs -> CATIA ->TOOLS ->Batch Management

====== Install and configure Sikorsky V4 Project tables in Catia V5 ======
Download {{:sik-inch-prj.zip|this zip file}} and extract it to C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B18 \\
That will create a folder called sik-inch.prj in the B18 folder. \\
Next, launch "settings management" from  Start menu -> Programs -> CATIA -> TOOLS. Pick "Compatability" from the tree view, then the "V4 Data Reading" tab. \\ For the PROJECT File Path, pick the folder icon and browse to the sik-inch.prj folder that you just put in the B18 folder. \\ For the DLNAME enter CATIAV4_PRJ pick OK to close the window. \\ Now when you read a V4 draw sheet the text and dimensions, etc will show correctly.
